Privacy Policy

1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy describes how CalcNest (“we”, “our”, “the app”) handles information when you use the CalcNest mobile application (com.ss.CalcNest on Google Play).

CalcNest is a standalone calculator app: no sign-in or account is required. You can use the calculators offline. The app is offered by the developer/entity named in the Google Play listing for CalcNest. For privacy questions, use the contact details in Section 8 (Contact).

2. What CalcNest does (and does not do)

• On your device: Calculator inputs, results, and app preferences (e.g. theme) stay on your phone or tablet unless you choose to export or share them.
• No account: We do not ask for your name, email, or password in CalcNest, and we do not create a user profile for you.
• No cloud backup of your calculations: We do not upload your calculator history or personal financial/health inputs to our servers.
• Export and share: If you export a result (e.g. PDF) or use Share, you choose the destination app (email, Drive, etc.) through your device’s system share sheet. We do not receive the file on our servers as part of that action.
• Scan to calculate (optional): If you use the scan icon on the Calculators home screen, you choose a photo from your camera or gallery. Text is read from that image to suggest a calculation. On production builds, recognition runs on your device when supported. If a cloud Vision API key is configured in a development build only, image data may be sent to Google Cloud Vision for text detection — we do not store those images on our servers.

3. Data we may collect or process

• App configuration (optional, over the network): When you are online, the app may read a small configuration document from Google Firebase Firestore (project calcnest-37dd0) — for example minimum app version, Play Store link, and AdMob settings. This does not include your calculator inputs. If the network is unavailable, built-in defaults are used.
• Local app data: Settings and in-app state are stored on your device only.
• Advertising: CalcNest may show ads (banner, native list ads, interstitial before export, and optional full-screen session ads) through Google AdMob. AdMob may collect or use device identifiers and usage data to serve and measure ads, as described in Google’s Privacy Policy. You can limit ad personalisation in your device’s Google/Android settings. We do not sell your personal data to third parties for advertising.
• Device telemetry (Firestore): To understand which calculators are useful and keep the app reliable, CalcNest may sign in to Firebase anonymously (no account required) and store one record per device at a hashed device identifier (we do not store your raw Android ID or iOS vendor ID). That record may include app version, device model, operating system version, locale/timezone (not GPS location), screen size, network type, app open and last-seen timestamps, and counts of which calculators were opened. Calculator usage counts do not include the numbers or text you enter or your results.
• Analytics and crash diagnostics: We use Firebase Analytics for aggregated usage events (such as app opened and calculator opened) and Firebase Crashlytics for crash and stability reports. Analytics and Crashlytics may use a hashed device identifier as the user id in those products. We do not sell your personal data.

4. Permissions

CalcNest is designed to work without broad access to your contacts, location, or SMS. The app may request access only when needed for a feature you use — for example, camera or photos when you choose Scan to calculate, saving or opening an exported file, or sharing through another app you select. You can deny permissions; related features may not work until you allow them.

5. Third-party services

We use:

• Google Firebase (Firestore, Authentication, Analytics, Crashlytics) — optional read of public app configuration; anonymous authentication and device telemetry writes as described in Section 3; analytics and crash reporting. See Firebase privacy and Google’s Privacy Policy.
• Google AdMob — advertising, as described above.
• Google Play — distribution and updates; governed by Google’s policies when you install or update the app.

We share only what is necessary for these services to operate. Third-party SDKs are expected to comply with applicable store and privacy policies.

6. Children

CalcNest is a general-purpose utility app. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, contact us and we will address it.

7. Retention and your choices

Because there is no CalcNest account, there is no account deletion flow. To remove data stored on your device, clear the app’s storage in Android Settings or uninstall CalcNest.

If you contact us by email, we keep your message only as long as needed to respond and for reasonable support records.

8. Your rights and contact

Depending on your region, you may have rights to access, correct, or request deletion of personal data we hold about you. Because CalcNest does not use accounts, we typically hold little or no personal data linked to you unless you email us.
